Leafy Bunting & 4th May Celebration (OLD WEBSITE)

Granton Castle Walled Garden Leafy Bunting
We’re inviting members of the local community, and beyond, to contribute to a piece of nature inspired community bunting to be displayed at our upcoming Celebration Event at the garden on 4 May.
We have lots of material available for you to use, if you need it, including some lovely eco-dyed fabric made using plants from the garden. We are open to creative contributions using different mediums (as long as they can withstand the Scottish weather), so, whether you’re a felter, quilter, knitter or embroider – we’d love you to take part!

Click above to download a bunting template and come along to the garden to get some inspiration for your leaf – details of open days and creative workshops can be found here, the first on this Friday, 15th March https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/anything-but-gardening-botanical-stamp-making-tickets-57470917060

We are really keen to see your leaves reflect this special place – for example, your bunting could include some embroidery that references the gardens colourful history, prints of leaves and botanicals that can be found in the garden or even quotes from the garden volunteers. If you would like to discuss your idea, send a message to the Granton Castle Walled Garden Facebook page and someone will get back to you.
Deadline: Leafy bunting contributions need to be finished and handed in by Friday 26 April to allow us enough time to string the bunting together ahead of the Celebration Event on 4 May.
Your finished leaf can be handed in at the front desk at North Edinburgh Arts or bring it along to one of our creative events or garden open days and hand to a member of the Granton Castle Walled Garden team. Please attach a label to your bunting with your name and contact details so that we can thank you for your contribution.
Following the 4 May Celebration Event the bunting will either remain on display or individual leaves will be repurposed into a more permanent piece of artwork for the garden.
If you have any questions or want to arrange pick up of material, please email grantongarden@gmail.com
