Summer is drawing to a close with the equinox bringing its balance of light and dark marking the undeniable seasonal switch. Squirrel like harvesting activity to gather the rich bounty of wild fruits and heritage crops growing in the walled garden.

It has been a busy season with new areas tamed, no-dig gardening techniques and crop trials, some successful and a few disasters..all part of the learning curve when growing amongst a wildlife rich paradise. The garden above all has provided inspiration for many creative activities this season with our ‘Anything but Gardening’ workshops spurring further exploration of botanically inspired arts.

We hope you can come along to our third Cockburn Association Doors Open Day on the last Saturday of the month 28th September from 11-3pm to share an afternoon at the garden with some great creative activities, improvised performance, ecoprinting demo. artists book display, pop-up cafe with light refreshments & Granton Bakery will be providing some tasty real bread too!
